A 1936 Ford is 'authenticated' by going back to basics

My introduction to woodies was in high school, in the 1960s. My best friend’s older brother had a ’51 Ford woodie.

The Ford was far from being original stock. It had a Chevy 348-ci engine with three inline, two-barrel carburetors and a Hurst floor-mounted shifter. The woodie also had seven-inch Bite by Bruce rear slicks mounted on 15-inch rims.

When my best friend’s brother was away at college, we frequently found his brother’s hidden keys and went joyriding.
