CA Wildfire Relief Donations

Woodie Friends Asked to Support

California Wildfire Victims

As you all know by now, California was recently hit by several wildfires – the largest being the Camp Fire in and around Paradise, and the other one – the Woolsey Fire, hitting Ventura County and Malibu in particular. One NWC member we are aware of, lost his home and some 20 classic cars – including woodies. In all, the Camp Fire – which spread over 153,000 acres – has taken 83 lives at latest count and 19,000 structures, including 14,000 homes. The 97,000-acre Woolsey Fire has three confirmed deaths and 1500 structures to date.

We know that at times like this we want to help but are extremely leery of who to give to and how the money will be used. Through one of the Santa Cruz Woodie Club members, Jule Hilton – has researched this and come up with two 501(c)3 non-profits (one for Camp Fire and one for Woolsey victims) that they feel to be worthy recipients of assistance. Matter of fact, they feel so strongly, that they are offering to match, dollar-for-dollar donated to the organizations (up to $10,000 max). As a result, we are asking our members to consider helping to whatever level they can.

In order to get credit for the match, we ask that if you DO make a contribution, just forward a copy of the receipt to Jule at julehilton@yahoo.com

The agencies with their links are as follows:

Camp Fire Victims: North Valley Community Foundation: www.nvcf.org

Woolsey Fire Victims: United Way of Ventura County:https://app.mobilecause.com/f/23ef/n?vid=6hp1

Thank you for your consideration.

All the best to you and yours!

Sincerely,

National Woodie Club Officers and Board
